Merging changes begin this weekend at Eagle Interchange eastbound I-84 on-ramp (Aug. 22-23)
BOISE – Starting Sunday morning (Aug. 23), drivers should prepare for changes when entering eastbound Interstate 84 from northbound Eagle Road. The merging conditions and length of this on-ramp will be temporarily adjusted to give crews room for rebuilding the outside lanes and shoulders of I-84 at the Eagle Interchange.
“For a few weeks, motorists will use a shorter temporary ramp that will provide approximately 660 feet for merging,” said ITD Project Engineer Jayme Coonce.
Lane restrictions will be in place on the ramp and eastbound I-84 near the Eagle Interchange Saturday night (Aug. 22) from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. as crews move traffic to the temporary ramp.
“We expect that merging conditions at Eagle Road will return to normal in mid-September,” Coonce said. “At that time, work on the outside lanes and shoulders will be complete between the Wye Interchange and Locust Grove Road.”
Construction of all interstate improvements in the Treasure Valley will be complete late this year.
