Lane restrictions, flagging at intersection of Federal Way and Gowen Road Thursday night (Aug. 27)

BOISE – Drivers should plan for brief delays when traveling through the intersection of Gowen Road and Federal Way on Thursday night (Aug. 27). The signal will be turned off overnight, and flaggers will control traffic from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. as crews remove the top layer of asphalt at this intersection.

During this work, Gowen Road and Federal Way will be restricted to one lane in each direction near the intersection. Lanes are being restricted to allow crews room for moving in heavy equipment to mill asphalt at the intersection.

“The roadway surface will be milled this week and paved in early September,” said ITD Project Manager Merrill Sharp. “In the time between, there will temporarily be small bumps at the intersection – so we advise drivers, and especially motorcyclists, to slow down.”

By early September, crews will place the top layer of asphalt and stripe the intersection, as well as Gowen Road between Federal Way and Eisenman Road.
