Pavement restoration on Idaho 44 in Eagle to begin early September

EAGLE – Pavement restoration of Idaho 44 from West State Street to the junction with Idaho 55 North is set to begin Sept. 1. The project will extend the life of the roadway and provide a smoother ride.

Construction crews plan to complete the project in three sections, starting at West State Street, working east to Idaho 55. Crews will complete all work for each specific section before progressing to
the next. The sections are as follows:

  • Section 1: West State Street to Eagle Road
  • Section 2: Eagle Road to Edgewood Lane
  • Section 3: Edgewood Lane to Idaho 55

Work is scheduled Sunday through Friday, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Weekend work will occur Friday through Sunday, 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

During daytime hours, crews will reinstate normal traffic patterns with reduced speed limits. Motorists can expect lane closures and flaggers directing traffic during nighttime work. In addition, due to grooved pavement, motorists and motorcyclists are encouraged to drive with extreme caution through the project site at all times. Area businesses and residents may experience construction-related noise and lights.

Crews will suspend work for Labor Day weekend – Sept. 5-7.

Construction is scheduled for completion in mid-October 2015. Knife River Corporation of Boise, is the prime contractor for this $1.8 million project.
