U.S. 95 Pollock Road turnbay construction south of Riggins starts Sept. 8
LEWISTON - Construction is slated to begin Sept. 8 on U.S. 95 turnbays at the intersection of Pollock Road and Fuzi Road just south of Riggins. The project is expected to wrap up in mid-October.
The primary reason for the work is to improve safety at the intersection. Crash rates, crash severity and turning data were all studied as part of moving this project to the top of the construction list.

Two left-turn bays and a right-turn lane will be added to the intersection by widening the existing roadway.
The project is one of 27 statewide projects advanced by the Idaho Transportation Board in May, based on readiness and matching criteria for critical need to maintain or repair state highways and bridges. The projects take advantage of increased funding allocated by the Idaho Legislature earlier this year.
Knife River Corporation Northwest, of Boise, is the contractor on this $589,000 project.
