Pavement restoration on Simplot Boulevard in Caldwell to begin mid-September
BOISE—Pavement restoration on Idaho 19 (Simplot Boulevard) in Caldwell will begin in mid-September. The project will extend the life of the existing pavement and provide for a smoother ride. Curb ramps will be upgraded to meet ADA compliance.
Paving work will begin from just west of Simplot Gate No. 7 and continue east to Blaine Street Monday through Friday from 9 pm. to 6 a.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction during overnight work, with flaggers assisting motorists through the construction zone.
Most of the pedestrian-ramp work will occur during daytime hours. Signs to alert pedestrians to detour information will be in place. Message boards will provide motorists with information on construction activities in the area. Work will conclude in November.
Knife River Corporation of Boise is the contractor. The contract amount is $1.1 million.
ITD encourages drivers to slow down and pay attention in the work zone. For updated road information, visit 511.idaho.gov.
