Construction on I-15 north of Spencer starts Tuesday (Sept. 8)
RIGBY - Construction on Interstate 15 north of Spencer will begin Tuesday (Sept. 8). Crews will reconstruct approaches to the Stoddard Creek overpass. Work is scheduled to finish in mid-October.
Workers will construct crossover lanes north of the Stoddard Creek overpass, which is four miles north of Spencer and 12 miles south of the Montana state line. Crews will then replace road base and repave approximately 350 feet of roadway on each side of the bridges.
The speed limit will be reduced from 80 mph to 60 mph. Travel will be reduced to one lane in each direction, with traffic diverted to northbound and then southbound lanes.
The transportation department awarded the $1.1 million contract to Gale Lim Construction LLC, of Blackfoot.
