Gowen Road will close, just west of Eisenman Road, on Tuesday night (Sept. 15)
BOISE – On Tuesday night (Sept. 15), Gowen Road will close from Eisenman Road to just west of the railroad bridge, located near the Shopko distribution center. The closure will be in place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. as crews install guardrail and work on the roadway surface. This work is part of replacing the I-84 Gowen Interchange and rebuilding Gowen Road.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured to Federal Way and Production Street. Signs will be posted along the designated route to direct drivers around the closure.
Access to all businesses in the area will be maintained.
On Wednesday and Thursday nights (Sept. 16 and 17), lanes will be restricted on this same stretch of Gowen Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Flaggers will direct traffic in alternating directions.
Through the end of the week, lane restrictions will also be in place on Interstate 84 between the Gowen and Broadway interchanges. Crews will be placing overhead signs for the newly rebuilt I-84 corridor in east Boise.
Construction updates will be sent via email and posted on the project website at www.itd.idaho.gov/GowenInterchange. To sign up for construction updates, contact ITD at comments@itd.idaho.gov, visit the project website or call (208) 334-8938.
