MEDIA ADVISORY: Three Idaho counties with no fatalities last year will be recognized at ITD board meeting
BOISE - Three eastern Idaho counties in the Idaho
Transportation Department’s District 6 recorded no highway fatalities in 2014
and those efforts to keep travelers safe on Idaho highways will be recognized
by the Idaho Transportation Board Wednesday at the ITD District 6 office in
Rigby.
Transportation board members will honor representatives from
Clark, Madison and Teton counties during the group’s business meeting at 10:30
a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 206 North Yellowstone Highway.
“As progress is
made toward the goal of zero highway fatalities in the state, it is important
to recognize these accomplishments and realize that if these counties can
complete a year without any fatalities, other counties can, too,” said John
Tomlinson, highway safety manager for the Idaho Transportation Department.
This is the third year in a row that Madison County reported zero fatalities and the second year in a row for Teton County. In 2014, there were a total of seven counties in Idaho without any fatalities. In addition to these three counties, the other counties were Adams, Camas, Caribou and Gem.
