Motorists should plan for new traffic pattern on I-84 near Meridian Interchange for this evening’s commute (Sept. 17)
BOISE--Lanes are shifted on westbound Interstate 84 between Locust Grove Road and the Ten Mile Interchange.
The new traffic pattern will be in place for several weeks as crews rebuild the outside lanes and shoulder of westbound I-84 under the Meridian Interchange.
To keep three through lanes open during this work, the far left westbound lane has been crossed over to the eastbound side of the interstate between Locust Grove and Ten Mile roads. The crossover traffic pattern will be in place through late October, depending on weather.
The crossover lane on westbound I-84 is separated from opposing traffic by a barrier. Motorists on westbound I-84 need to stay in the far right lane to exit at the Meridian Interchange.

After work is complete on westbound I-84 at the Meridian Interchange, a similar traffic pattern will go into effect on the eastbound side.
Construction of the outside lanes and shoulders at the Meridian Interchange will be complete by late December. This timeframe is dependent upon weather.
ITD asks that drivers continue to leave early, slow down and pay attention throughout the final phase of construction on I-84.
Construction updates will be sent via email and posted on the project website at www.itd.idaho.gov/MeridianInterchange. To sign up for construction updates, contact ITD at comments@itd.idaho.gov, visit the project website or call (208) 334-8938.
