Traffic pattern changes begin this weekend on Interstate 84 at the Meridian Interchange (Oct. 10-12)

MERIDIAN – A new traffic pattern will be put in place this weekend on Interstate 84 between Ten Mile and Locust Grove roads. Lanes will be shifted to give crews room to rebuild the outside lanes and shoulder of eastbound I-84 under the Meridian Interchange.

In order to keep three lanes open in both directions, the far left eastbound lane will cross over to the westbound side of the interstate. The crossover traffic pattern that has been in place on the westbound side of I-84 since late September will be removed.

The new crossover on eastbound I-84 is expected to be in place by Monday morning’s commute (Oct. 12). The eastbound crossover lane will be separated from opposing traffic and will not have access to the Meridian Road Interchange.

Motorists will need to stay in the far right lane to exit I-84 at the Meridian Interchange.

ITD anticipates construction of the outside lanes and shoulders at the Meridian Interchange will be complete by late December. This time frame is dependent upon weather.
