Delays and closures at Interstate 84 Exit 26 to Notus/Parma through late October

BOISE – On Wednesday (Oct. 14), the Idaho Transportation Department will begin constructing improvements at the I-84, Exit 26 interchange (to Notus/Parma). Through the end of October, drivers should plan ahead for the I-84 ramps and U.S. 20/26 at the interchange to be closed.

Click here for a map of upcoming traffic impacts at I-84, Exit 26 and detour routes.

The closures will allow crews to repave the on- and off-ramps at Exit 26 and resurface the U.S. 20/26 bridge over I-84. Below is an overview of what to expect from mid- to late October:

• The I-84 westbound ramps and U.S. 20/26 (between Old Highway 30 and the I-84 eastbound ramps) will be closed 24/7 for two weeks.
• U.S. 20/26 west of the Exit 26 interchange will be intermittently closed for two weeks.
• The I-84 eastbound ramps will be intermittently closed for several days.

Traffic will be detoured to the interchanges adjacent to Exit 26 (Idaho 44 and Centennial Way). Detour routes will be clearly marked.

These improvements are part of ITD’s project to repave ramps at five interchanges in southwest Idaho. Maintaining the ramps will extend the life of the roadway surface. Upcoming work locations will be announced via email and on 511.idaho.gov.

ITD asks drivers to plan ahead, pay attention and slow down in work zones, and be aware of the safety of construction crews.
