UPDATE: Plan ahead for delays and closures at Interstate 84 Exit 26, to Notus/Parma through late October

BOISE – On Thursday (Oct. 15), the Idaho Transportation Department will begin improvements at the Interstate 84, Exit 26 interchange (to Notus/Parma). Crews will work through late October to repave the on- and off-ramps at Exit 26 and resurface the U.S. 20/26 bridge over I-84.

Below are the anticipated dates for closures related to this project:

• Crews will work overnight on Thursday (Oct. 15) to mill the existing pavement on all four ramps at Exit 26. During this work, the I-84 eastbound on-ramp will close from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., and flaggers will direct traffic at the I-84 eastbound off-ramp and westbound ramps.

• The I-84 eastbound ramps will close Monday (Oct. 19) and the I-84 westbound ramps will close Tuesday (Oct. 20) during the day (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) for paving.

• The I-84 westbound ramps and U.S. 20/26 (between Old Highway 30 and the I-84 eastbound ramps) will be closed 24/7 from October 19-28. The I-84 eastbound ramps also will be closed intermittently during the day through late October while crews resurface U.S. 20/26.

Traffic will be detoured around the closures at Notus Road, Simplot Road, Farmway Road and Idaho 44.

These improvements are part of ITD’s project to repave ramps at five interchanges in southwest Idaho. Maintaining the ramps will extend the life of the roadway surface. Upcoming work locations will be announced via email and on 511.idaho.gov.

ITD asks drivers to plan ahead, pay attention and slow down in work zones, and be aware of the safety of construction crews.
