Bridge-joint repairs to wrap up Nov. 14 on Wallace Viaduct
COEUR d'ALENE - Repair of bridge joints to extend the lifespan of the Interstate 90 Wallace Viaduct at Exit 62 while enhancing safety and mobility, is expected to wrap up by mid-November. This project has been underway since July.
I-90 is reduced to one 10-foot-wide lane, east- and westbound, from milepost 61.2 through milepost 62.1 for the next month. The speed limit is reduced to 45 mph.

At the time of its completion in early Sept. 1991, the Wallace Viaduct was the largest single construction contract awarded by ITD, at $22.8 million. The elevated route, which replaced an old one-lane bridge, rises above the historic mining community west of Coeur d’Alene and is 4,700 feet long.
C.L. Heilman Company Inc., of Coeur d’Alene, is the contractor for this $1.76 million project.
