Intersection reconstruction nearing completion in Nampa at Karcher Road and Middleton Road

BOISE—Improvements are nearly complete at Nampa’s busiest intersection--Karcher Road (Idaho 55) and Middleton Road.

The improvements include construction of new lanes, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and a new traffic signal. Final construction activities include minor paving and striping (weather-permitting). When completed, current lane restrictions will be lifted. Signal-timing adjustments and landscaping will also occur. An early November completion is anticipated.

Approximately 30,000 vehicles use the intersection daily. The Idaho Transportation Department and the city of Nampa partnered to reconstruct this intersection to help ease congestion and enhance safety through the heavily traveled corridor.

"As Canyon County's population continues to grow, these improvements will help keep traffic moving during both peak and non-peak travel times and enhance safety for all motorists," said ITD Project Manager Tom Haynes.

C&A Paving was the general contractor on this $3.8 million project that was funded jointly by ITD and the city of Nampa.
