Public transportation group’s quarterly meeting set for Nov. 12 in Boise
BOISE - A public transportation program update, explanation of the State Transportation Investment Program (STIP) and selection of a new council member will be lead topics when Idaho’s Public Transportation Advisory Council (PTAC) holds its quarterly meeting Nov. 12 in Boise.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) Headquarters’ Auditorium, 3311 W. State St.
“ITD Public Transportation is committed to fostering a safe, mobility-focused public transportation program throughout Idaho that promotes economic opportunity and growth for all of Idaho’s citizens,” said ITD Public Transportation Manager Mark Bathrick. “This meeting will highlight initiatives my office has underway, as well as continue to build upon the goals outlined by the PTAC members.”
PTAC members will learn about Idaho’s public transportation safety program. This includes the Idaho State Police Vehicle Inspection Program, Sub-recipient Site Review Program, and the Asset Management and Title Program that displays how ITD tracks and ensures each public transportation asset is used safely and to its full extent. Mobility support-service updates from across Idaho also will be presented.
Bathrick will talk about the STIP and how it relates to public transportation in Idaho. Advisory council members also will select a new member to represent eastern Idaho from applications previously submitted.
The PTAC was created to advise the transportation department on issues related to public transportation. Per Idaho Code, the council participates in planning activities, identifies transportation needs and promotes coordinated transportation systems. It is composed of six members, one representing each of ITD’s administrative districts.
