New signal on Gowen Road at Interstate 84 will be installed this week
BOISE – Crews will work this week to install a new traffic signal where Gowen Road intersects with the Interstate 84 westbound ramps. The signal, which is being added as part of the new I-84 Gowen Interchange, is expected to be in operation by Wednesday, Nov. 18.
Nighttime lane restrictions will be in place on Gowen Road between Federal Way and Eisenman Road on Wednesday and Thursday nights (Nov. 11 and 12) as crews install the signal. Both nights, lanes will be restricted from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and flaggers will control traffic.
During this work, the I-84 westbound off-ramp at Gowen Road will be closed Thursday night (Nov. 12). The ramp will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

All lanes will remain open during the day, but drivers may see crews working on the shoulders of Gowen Road near the I-84 ramps while the signal is being installed.
The installation of this signal is part of the final phase of rebuilding Gowen Road and the I-84 Gowen Interchange. Improvements have included widening Gowen Road to five lanes, building new on- and off-ramps to I-84, improving turn lanes on Gowen Road, Federal Way and Eisenman Road, and replacing the bridges over I-84.
Please remember to slow down, pay attention in the construction zone and be aware of the safety of construction workers. Your patience is appreciated as ITD works on these improvements.
