Community invited to learn about design and construction plans for replacing the Broadway Bridge in downtown Boise

BOISE – The Idaho Transportation Department will host an open house for the community to learn about plans for replacing the Broadway Bridge in downtown Boise Wednesday (Dec. 2). The project includes removing and replacing the bridge over the Boise River and improving Broadway Avenue between University Drive and Front Street.

The public open house  for the Broadway Bridge Replacement Project will be held at Washington Group Plaza (720 Park Blvd., Boise) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Broadway Bridge is being rebuilt to meet today’s standards. Design plans for the project have been finalized, and construction to rebuild the bridge and improve Broadway Avenue will begin early January 2016.

During construction, Broadway Avenue will be fully closed from Cesar Chavez Lane to Myrtle Street. Motorists will be detoured around the work zone via the Parkcenter Boulevard Bridge and Beacon Street. Greenbelt detours will also be clearly marked.

The closure and detours are expected to be in place from January to fall 2016.

To receive email updates during construction visit www.itd.idaho.gov/BroadwayBridge/, text BROADWAYBRIDGE to 2282 or call Jennifer Gonzalez at (208) 334-8938.
