Right-turn lane from Myrtle Street onto southbound Broadway Avenue closed Tuesday through Saturday (Dec. 8-12)

BOISE –The free-flowing, right-turn lane from Myrtle Street onto southbound Broadway Avenue will close for several days starting Tuesday at 9 a.m. (Dec. 8). The lane closure will remain in place 24/7 through Saturday afternoon (Dec. 12) as crews continue relocating utilities near the Broadway Avenue bridge.

ITD anticipates the turn lane will reopen on Saturday by 3 p.m.

During the closure, right turns from Myrtle Street onto Broadway Avenue will be controlled by the traffic signal at the intersection. Right turns on red will not be permitted.

As part of the utility work, access in and out of Cesar Chavez Lane at Broadway Avenue will be intermittently restricted through December. Lanes will be restricted as crews relocate underground utilities and work at the Christ Chapel, located just south of the Broadway Avenue bridge.

This work is part of preparation for replacing the Broadway Bridge over the Boise River and improving Broadway Avenue between University Drive and Front Street. Construction of the project will begin in early January 2016.
