Drivers urged to watch for wildlife migration along Interstate 84 near Mountain Home
BOISE--Motorists are advised to watch for elk and deer that are migrating near Interstate 84 in the Mountain Home area (mileposts 77-104) in recent days.
Heavy snow in higher elevations has contributed to the movement of wildlife in southwest Idaho along several roadways, including I-84. Idaho Fish and Game Spokesman Mike Keckler said a timeline for how long this migration pattern may continue varies during winter months.
“Drivers are encouraged to pay attention and be alert, particularly at dawn and dusk when wildlife may be on the move,” Keckler said.
ITD reminds all drivers to buckle up, pay attention and check 511.idaho.gov for the latest road conditions.
