The transportation department is asking participants to arrive at either 4 p.m. or 6 p.m. At each of those times, a formal presentation will be given, followed by a question-and-answer session.
When complete, the Idaho 55 Corridor Plan will guide policies and projects important to the future of the highway during the next 20 years.
To develop the plan, the transportation department is studying Idaho 55 between New Meadows and Marsing. Safety and traffic are being analyzed, as well as environmental issues throughout the corridor and in each county. The corridor plan is based on community input, engineering analysis, and city and county planning goals.
Idaho 55 is an important north-south route that supports daily commuters, recreational traffic, long-haul trucking companies and agricultural companies. The Idaho 55 Corridor Plan will address 134 miles of highway in six counties.
