Eastern Idaho highway construction report for Aug. 8-15
RIGBY - Following is the eastern Idaho state highway construction report for Aug. 8-15:

I-15, Sunnyside I-15 Interchange to I-15B: Traffic is reduced to one line in each direction on Yellowstone Highway (U.S. 26/I-15B), and a four-way stop has been introduced for traffic control at the intersection with Sunnyside Road. Use of an alternate route is recommended when possible. The intersection will close for one day later this month; additional information will be provided later.

Paving is under way on the new Sunnyside Road alignment between the intersection and the new Snake River Bridge.

I-15, Osgood Girder Repair:
A short section of one northbound lane of I-15 and Osgood Road (North Church Farm Road) over the interstate north of Idaho Falls is closed to traffic. A pre-stressed concrete girder beneath the overpass was damaged last fall and is being repaired. The project should be complete in late September. Motorists can cross the interstate at Exit 119 in Idaho Falls or at Payne Road (81st North) about two miles north of the Osgood overpass.

U.S. 20/26, Tom Cat Hill East:
Traffic is reduced to a single lane on U.S. 20/26, led by pilot car, through Craters of the Moon National Monument. Travel is rough between mileposts 224 and 233. An additional 45 minutes may be required to get through the work zone. Western Construction is building a new alignment of the highway for two miles and rebuilding 8.8 miles of roadway. Work will continue through September.

Idaho 33, Canyon Creek Bridge: Traffic is reduced to a single lane Mondays through Thursdays during working hours across the new Canyon Creek Bridge on Idaho 33 east of Newdale. Motorists can expect delays of up to 10 minutes; a 12-foot width restriction remains in effect. Zollinger Construction of Rexburg is building the highway approaches in preparation for paving. The work zone speed limit is 35 mph .

U.S. 20, Idaho Falls to Rigby:
H-K Contractors will apply a seal coat to the southbound lanes of U.S. 20 from Science Center Drive in Idaho Falls to Rigby. Work will be done by the end of the week. Motorists are advised to slow down to reduce the risk of windshield damage.
