Winchester Lake pipe replacement will close section of U.S. 95B March 14-18
LEWISTON - Replacement of a failing 1960s' siphon pipe will close a short section of the U.S. 95 Business Route next week in the immediate area of Winchester Lake and the adjacent Winchester Dam. The closure is needed for a crane to move the replacement pipe. The highway will be open to two-way traffic between closures.
The project will begin at 7:30 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. daily from March 14-18.
The traveling public may follow the local detour.
Idaho Department of Fish and Game is spearheading the project, using a new high-density polyethylene pipe. In order to unearth the existing pipe, buried approximately seven feet beneath the highway, crews will excavate outside of the existing guardrails.
