Motorists should expect delays on Wayside Corner project on Idaho 200 in Ponderay
COEUR d'ALENE - Motorists on Idaho 200 in Ponderay should expect delays as work continues on the Wayside Corner project, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. 

Intermittent delays will occur over the next two weeks according to the following tentative schedule:
  • Saturday (Aug. 19): Contractors' crews will pave on the south side of Idaho 200.  Motorists should expect delays up to 15 minutes from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Monday-Friday (Aug. 21-25): Work will include excavation, subgrade preparation, driveway approach work and rock fill.  Up to 15 minute delays may occur as traffic shifts from the existing alignment to the new pavement.

  • Monday-Tuesday (Aug.  21, 22): Kootenai Cutoff Road The road will be closed for construction both days.  Work will include excavation, subgrade preparation, rock fill and paving.  Detour signs will be posted.  The closure is effective 6 a.m. Monday until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
This $1 million project will reconstruct and realign the Kootenai Cutoff Road/Idaho 200 intersection, install a traffic signal, and improve drainage in the area.  The contractor is Interstate Concrete and Asphalt of Sandpoint.
