BOISE-- A safety project funded by new user fee revenues begins next week in Nampa (April 18). It will make improvements to the eastbound and westbound Garrity on-ramps (milepost 38). The $580,000 project will include adding another lane to each ramp, improving merge conditions for increased safety.

Work will occur during day and night. Both ramps will remain open during construction, but lane reductions may be in place between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The project is scheduled to wrap up in late May.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down and pay attention in the construction zone.

This project is one of the 27 moved forward by the Idaho Transportation Board by using funds allocated by the Idaho Legislature in the state's first transportation-revenue increase in nearly two decades.
