Public meeting May 5 in Grangeville for Main Street and U.S. 95 projects
LEWISTON - A public meeting to discuss upcoming projects on Idaho 13 (Main Street) and on U.S. 95 from W. South 1st Street to Johnston Road will be held Thursday (May 5) in Grangeville.  These projects will benefit the public by extending pavement life, improving 11 curb ramps and upgrading multiple signs to current standards.

The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. at Grangeville City Hall in the Council Chambers, located at 225 W. North Street. Representatives from the prime contractor, Knife River, and the Idaho Transportation Department will be available to provide information regarding the construction schedule and to answer questions.

Work on Idaho 13/Main Street includes milling and replacing paving starting at its junction with U.S. 95 and ending at Mount Idaho Road. Additional work on Idaho 13/Main Street also includes upgrading curb ramps, signal heads and signs.

U.S. 95 will receive an in-depth Cement Recycled Asphalt Base Stabilization (CRABS) resurfacing from milepost 239.5 to milepost 242, including an overlay. Work on U.S. 95 also includes replacing signs and culverts.

Knife River will begin work on curb ramps, signals and culvert replacement May 30. Work on this $2.3 million project will be suspended during the town’s Border Days celebration starting June 25, and will resume July 6 following the Fourth of July holiday. It is expected to finish by late September.

Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes during construction, and ITD appreciates the patience of motorists. The contractor will work primarily during nighttime hours on Idaho 13/Main Street, with a detour in place. Flaggers and pilot cars will be used to direct traffic on U.S. 95.
