Pavement overlay on stretch of I-90 in Coeur d'Alene starts June 8
COEUR d'ALENE - An overlay of the existing pavement on a short stretch of eastbound Interstate 90 through Coeur d'Alene is planned for June 8 and 9, affecting the on- and off-ramps in that area. ITD will conduct the work overnight, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., to ease the impact to motorists in the area.
A project is planned for the area in 2017, so crews are simply extending the pavement’s life cycle until that replacement work occurs.
Crews will pave the right (driving) lane first, on June 8, so the on-ramp at Exit 12 and the off-ramp at Exit 13 will be impacted until work proceeds past those areas. Minor delays are expected and drivers are encouraged to use the Exit 12 off-ramp or the ramps at Exit 14 as alternate routes during this portion of work.
On June 9, crews will pave the left (passing) lane, and traffic will need to yield when entering the ramps at Exit 12 or Exit 13.
ITD is using electronic message boards in the area to alert drivers to the upcoming work, as well as a message board at the Huetter Port of Entry. The traffic impact is also posted on ITD’s traveler services website, 511.idaho.gov.
