Month-long closure at Indiana Avenue and Karcher Road (Idaho 55) begins today
CALDWELL – Starting today, (June 10), Indiana Avenue will close in both directions just north of Karcher Road (Idaho 55). The closure will be in place 24/7 through early July so crews can complete improvements at the Karcher/Indiana intersection and help ITD move toward an earlier completion date.
The Indiana Avenue restriction will extend from Karcher Road to just north of the intersection. Traffic will be detoured to Homedale Road using Florida Avenue and Montana Avenue. Click here for a map of the detour route.
The work-zone speed limit will be 45 mph on Karcher Road and 30 mph on Indiana Avenue.
Work recently began to improve the intersection of Karcher Road and Indiana Avenue. A signal will be installed, and the intersection will be widened. Construction is expected to be complete late this summer
The project, which will enhance safety and traffic flow, is one of several intersection improvements being constructed on Idaho 55 in Canyon County through 2017.
