U.S. 20 seal coating between Sugar City and Ashton Hill starts Wednesday (June 22)
RIGBY - Seal coating on U.S. 20 between Sugar City and the Ashton Hill will begin Wednesday (June 22). The seal coat is scheduled for completion June 30.
Crews first will seal shoulders, then public approaches, and then travel lanes, with work starting south of the Ashton Bridge. Motorists should watch for mobile operations, especially Wednesday and Thursday.
Travel in the Ashton area eventually will be reduced to one lane, with flaggers directing traffic through the work zone. The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
Motorists should observe posted speed limits and keep a safe distance from other vehicles to reduce potential windshield damage.
Commercial drivers transporting permitted loads wider than 14 feet need to contact Resident Engineer Matt Davison (208-745-5686) or Staff Engineer Kade Raymond (208-745-5316) 24 hours in advance for special authorization to pass through the construction zone.
The transportation department awarded HK Contractors Inc., of Idaho Falls, the $1.1 million contract.
