Westbound Juniper Rest Area closed for two weeks
BURLEY – Beginning today (Thursday, July 7), each side of the Juniper Rest Area on Interstate 84 in western Oneida County will be closed for portions of the next two weeks during improvements to the sewage lagoons. Water to restroom facilities will be shut off while the lagoon lining is replaced.
The improvements to the Juniper Rest Area, located at milepost 269, will help increase the life expectancy of the facilities, and meet current health and environmental standards.
The westbound facility will be closed until July 25. Work on the lagoon for the eastbound facility will begin later in July with a closure possible. The parking areas will remain open, but no restroom facilities will be available during the closure.
The work is part of an I-84 paving project recently completed north from the Utah border.
Western Construction Inc., of Boise, is the contractor for the $3.6 million project.
