Karcher/Indiana intersection work complete today
BOISE –The Idaho Transportation Department will complete improvements to the Karcher Road/Indiana intersection by Wednesday (Aug. 17). The new traffic signal at the intersection is operational and Indiana Avenue will reopen this evening.
Crews worked all summer to improve the Karcher Road and Indiana Avenue intersection. The improvements included widening Karcher Road to five lanes and Indiana Avenue to three lanes and adding a new signal at the intersection.
“ITD appreciates motorists patience this summer as we constructed these much needed improvements at the intersection,” said ITD Resident Engineer Shawna King. “The project will enhance safety and move traffic through the intersection. This is the first of several projects ITD has planned to improve Karcher Road over the next couple years.”
Additional construction activities will occur over the next couple of weeks while crews complete striping, place signs and shoulder work.
