Pavement repairs on Interstate 84 near Franklin Road in Caldwell to begin next week
BOISE—Maintenance crews from the Idaho Transportation Department and contractor Central Paving will repair a section of eastbound and westbound Interstate 84 in Caldwell beginning next week.
Work will include milling the road surface and overlaying the pavement near Franklin Road (exit 29) to create a smoother driving surface for motorists.
Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., eastbound I-84 will be reduced to one lane in the work zone for four consecutive nights. Upon completion, work will move to the westbound lanes.
Some work will require the on-and off ramps at Franklin Road to close temporarily. Detour information and signage will be clearly posted to guide motorists around the work zone.
The project cost of this maintenance work is $370,000.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down and pay attention when driving in the area.
