Public hearing scheduled for Sept. 13 on I-15/Rose Road Interchange project

BLACKFOOT - A public hearing will be held Tuesday (Sept. 13) to take comment on a project to replace the I-15/Rose Road Interchange.

The hearing will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Blackfoot City Hall, 157 N. Broadway Street. Displays will illustrate project information, and transportation department staff will be available to answer questions. Written comments can be submitted at the hearing, and a hearing officer will be available to take comments verbally from those who wish to do so.

The project will replace the existing bridge over I-15, and update the on- and off-ramps. The existing ramp configuration does not meet current design standards, and replacing the interchange will improve safety and mobility for the local community, agriculture industry and surrounding businesses.

Construction is anticipated to start in 2018.

Public comment is being taken from Friday, Sept. 2, through Sunday, Oct. 2. Comments can be submitted in writing or verbally at the hearing, e-mailed to adam.rush@itd.idaho.gov, faxed to (208) 334-8563 or mailed to: Idaho Transportation Department, Attn: Adam Rush, 3311 W. State Street, Boise, ID  83703.
