Traffic pattern to change on Federal Way Bridge in Boise Wednesday as maintenance work continues
BOISE—Traffic patterns on the Federal Way Bridge in Boise will be adjusted on Wednesday (Sept. 20) starting at 8 p.m.
Crews will adjust temporary traffic signals and switch traffic to the south side of the bridge overnight. Flaggers will assist motorists through intersections in the work zone. Lane reductions on Broadway Avenue below the structure will be in place to accommodate work on the bridge. Lane reductions on Broadway are expected to continue for approximately four more weeks.
This work is part of ongoing maintenance which includes preserving the life of the bridge deck through routine maintenance and repairs.
The project is scheduled to be complete in October.
The Idaho Transportation Board advanced a group of 27 critically needed road and bridge projects in 2015 using funds allocated by the Idaho Legislature for the state’s first transportation-revenue increase in nearly two decades. Doing so enabled the advancement of dozens of other critically needed road and bridge projects statewide in the future. This is one of that initial group of projects.
