Girder placement for Succor Creek Bridge rebuild in Homedale scheduled to begin next week
Boise—Construction of the Succor Creek Bridge in Homedale continues with girder placement scheduled on Monday, Oct. 11.
The Idaho Transportation Department is replacing this bridge as the original structure has reached the end of its structural and design life. When complete, the new clear-span bridge will include bike and pedestrian lanes.
This work will require intermittent closures of Idaho 19 between Johnstone Road and River Road. Crews will be working between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. with the intent of reducing impacts to school bus traffic and other commuters. If necessary, a second closure is possible after rush hour from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Flaggers will be assisting motorists through the work zone during girder placement.
Construction is scheduled to wrap up in mid-2017.
The Idaho Transportation Board advanced a group of 27 critically needed road and bridge projects in 2015 using funds allocated by the Idaho Legislature for the state’s first transportation-revenue increase in nearly two decades. Doing so enabled the advancement of dozens of other critically needed road and bridge projects statewide in the future. This is one of that initial group of projects.
