New traffic pattern on Eagle Road in Meridian designed to enhance safety and mobility
BOISE—Improvements along Eagle Road (Idaho 55) in Meridian, are designed to enhance safety and mobility along the corridor.
The Idaho Transportation Department has extended the third through lane on northbound Eagle Road halfway between River Valley Road and Ustick Road. The new traffic pattern will be fully implemented tonight (Oct. 12).
The southbound Eagle Road median access to Village Drive has been restricted due to the high number of head-on or angle-turning collisions at this location since 2012. This year alone, 24 crashes have occurred. Traffic control devices and new striping are already in place. New signs also indicate the traffic pattern change.
Safety is ITD’s highest priority. We remind drivers to give themselves enough time, pay attention to all posted speed signs and never drive distracted.
