Final report for U.S. 20/Idaho 75 Intersection Study available on ITD website

SHOSHONE – The Idaho Transportation Department has published the U.S. 20/Idaho 75 Timmerman Junction Intersection Study Final Report which identifies recommendations for improving that south-central Idaho intersection.

The report is available online at www.itd.idaho.gov/d4 under “D-4 Design Projects and Corridor Studies.” It identifies a range of recommendations for short- and long-term improvements at the Timmerman Junction. Recommendations are based on technical studies, community input and historical-planning efforts.

A community advisory committee met three times to give feedback to ITD’s study team. In addition, more than 750 people responded to a survey about potential improvements. Participants included residents, city leaders, legislators, emergency responders, agricultural and trucking services, commerce and tourism organizations, transportation providers and major employers.

“We owe a big thank you to the leaders and citizens of the Wood River Valley and beyond for their outstanding participation and feedback over the course of the study,” said ITD Project Manager Bruce Christensen.

The completed U.S. 20/Idaho 75 study will help provide direction necessary to pursue funding and future implementation. Funding for the improvements is not currently in place.

Kittelson & Associates, Inc. led the study in close coordination with staff from ITD District 4 and Blaine County.
