TRAFFIC ALERT: Westbound I-90 blocked at top of Lookout Pass
COEUR d’ALENE - Both westbound lanes of Interstate 90 at the top of Lookout Pass are blocked this afternoon (Thursday, Dec. 15) in the aftermath of a semi-truck and trailer that reportedly jack knifed while attempting to navigate the downhill portion of the pass. Another semi also got entangled at the scene.
The crash, at milepost 70.5, occurred at approximately 1:30 pm PST. Local law enforcement, Idaho State Police, and Idaho Transportation Department crews are all on-site handling the incident and attempting to clear lanes. Two wreckers are also on-site to clear the big rigs.
The estimate is that the closure it will be at least three hours in duration.
