POCATELLO - The public is invited to help the Idaho Transportation Department in planning the upcoming U.S. 89/Washington Street reconstruction project in Montpelier. The project is expected to be built by 2019 or before.
The public open house will be held Jan. 17, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Montpelier City Hall, in the upstairs auditorium at 534 Washington Street. Idaho Transportation Department staff will be available to answer questions.
The public will be asked to provide input on project details such as driving lane widths, turn lanes, medians, parking stalls, and crosswalks. Visual displays will include maps of the project location and illustrations of possible options for the roadway striping.
Citizens can also submit ideas and comments using the interactive map on the project website at http://itd.idaho.gov/d5/ and then look for US-89, Washington St. Montpelier under Design Projects.
