MEDIA ALERT: ITD Urges Work Zone Safety Ahead of I-15 Overhaul
The Idaho Transportation Department will open the District 5 maintenance yard to local media outlets in honor of National Work Zone Awareness Week (April 3-7). The event will focus on work-zone safety during major construction on I-15 in 2017. This month ITD will begin the first of many projects to resurface deteriorated pavement and make numerous bridge repairs on I-15. Over the next several years ITD will invest $95 million on the interstate.
WHAT: ITD engineers, contractors and law enforcement partners will be available for interviews to discuss work zone safety and the upcoming projects on I-15.
WHEN: Thursday, April 6 at 1 p.m.
WHERE: ITD District 5 offices at 5151 S. 5th Avenue in Pocatello. Members of the media will also have the option of touring some of the nearby project sites on I-15.
