U.S. 93 closed Wednesday overnight for repairs caused by rough winter weather
JEROME – Nighttime traffic will be detoured away from U.S. 93 beginning Wednesday (April 5) at 10 p.m. for repairs to the railroad crossing about two miles north of Interstate 84. Crews will replace several damaged concrete panels at the crossing throughout the night.
Work is expected to be complete by 4 a.m. Thursday and open to traffic prior to the morning commute.
Eastern Idaho Railroad and the Idaho Transportation Department will be working to complete repairs to the Barrymore crossing near 300 South Road during the nighttime closure. Several concrete panels that support traffic across the tracks have broken or shattered through the winter months and created large holes.
U.S. 93 traffic will be detoured on Interstate 84 and Idaho 25 to access the west Jerome interchange (Exit 165). Access to the closure area and crossroads by local residents will be permitted during the
closure.
