I-84 ramp at Declo interchange to close for reconstruction starting Monday

DECLO – The westbound off-ramp at Interstate 84's Declo Interchange (Exit 216) will close for reconstruction beginning Monday (May 8) and lasting for about two weeks.

The ramp work is in conjunction with construction of the I-84 Snake River twin bridges east of Burley. The ramp is being rebuilt to facilitate a second lane for traffic turning onto the intersecting highway.

All westbound traffic will exit I-84 at the Heyburn interchange (Exit 211) to access Idaho 24 toward Rupert and U.S. 30 to Idaho 81 toward Declo. The westbound on-ramp and both eastbound ramps at the Declo Interchange will remain open during this phase of construction.

Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction, of Draper, Utah, is the contractor for the $17.88 million project to replace the two I-84 bridges crossing the Snake River.

The westbound bridge was completed in 2016 and construction of the eastbound bridge is more than halfway complete. All work is expected to be complete by September.

A 65-mph speed limit remains in effect through the work zone. There is also a 15-foot width restriction for oversized loads.
