UPDATE: I-90 bridge repair projects will bring ramp closures starting Thursday (June 8)
COEUR d'ALENE - A series of bridge-repair projects on Interstate 90 in north Idaho will bring eastbound off-ramp closures starting Thursday (June 8) at Kellogg (Exit 49) and June 13 at Silverton (Exit 60), both around 3 p.m.
The eastbound closures will last for about two months, followed by westbound on-ramp closures at the same locations starting in early August and lasting an additional two months.
The interstate ramps will be closed to facilitate concrete overlays at the structures.
Traffic will be limited to one lane within work zones, and widths restricted to 14 feet.
Overall, the work will consist of the application of bridge-deck preservation measures on 12 bridges in seven locations. Additionally, the project will include repair or replacement of expansion joints, approach slabs, concrete cracking and guardrail repairs. Minor pavement removal and replacement also will occur near the S. Fork Coeur d’Alene, Silverton Interchange, and Silverton Business Loop Bridges.
C.L. Heilman Company, of Coeur d'Alene, is the contractor on this $2.7 million project. The overall work will continue through September.
