Media Advisory: Eclipse/Traffic conditions will be available. For planning purposes.
News Directors/Editors - The Idaho Transportation Department will monitor traffic conditions leading up to and on the day of the eclipse, and will post updates online.

Media outlets are encouraged to visit itd.idaho.gov/eclipse for details. For the latest updates, click on the "news" tab.

"We are anticipating a significant increase in traffic, and want to share information with drivers," Vince Trimboli, the manager for ITD's Office of Communication, said. "The daily updates will help drivers be aware of conditions on our highways, and choose a route that helps them get to their destination."

Trimboli said drivers should expect delays, particularly after the eclipse concludes on Monday.

Updates will be posted Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday at approximately 2 p.m. Each update will include a summary of 24 locations where the transportation department has automated traffic counters.
