Eastbound off-ramp at Declo interchange to close for reconstruction
DECLO – Drivers will face some impacts through the continued construction of the Snake River twin bridges east of Burley as the contractor will close and reconstruct the eastbound off-ramp at the Declo Interchange beginning Monday (Sept. 11). The ramp will be closed for about two weeks.
The eastbound off-ramp at the Declo Interchange (Exit 216) is being reconstructed to meet current design and speed standards.
All eastbound traffic will be directed to exit I-84 at the Heyburn interchange (Exit 211) to access Idaho Highway 25 to Minidoka County and Idaho Highway 81 and Idaho Highway 77 to toward Declo. Both westbound ramps and the eastbound off-ramp at the Declo Interchange will remain open during this phase of construction.
Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction of Draper, Utah is the contractor for the $17.88 million project to replace the two I-84 bridges crossing the Snake River. The westbound bridge was completed in 2016 and construction of the eastbound bridge is more than half complete. All work is expected to be complete by October.
A 65-mph speed limit remains in effect through the work zone. There is also a 15-foot width restriction for oversize loads.
