Community invited to give input on I-84 improvements at Dec. 13 workshop

BOISE – The Idaho Transportation Department will host a community workshop Wednesday, Dec. 13 at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Nampa (5750 E. Franklin Rd.) to gather input about upcoming improvements to Interstate 84 between the Karcher and Franklin Boulevard interchanges.

Community members are invited to arrive anytime between 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Identical presentations will begin at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Both sessions will include an opportunity to comment on I-84 improvements, learn next steps and hear about other I-84 transportation projects in Canyon County.

ITD’s current design plans include adding lanes to I-84, replacing the Northside Interchange and Karcher Overpass, and rebuilding aging structures over Mason Creek and the Union Pacific Railroad. For more information, download the project fact sheet.

Construction on I-84 between Karcher and Franklin Boulevard could begin as early as the fall of 2018. The improvements are expected to enhance safety, capacity and traffic flow for many years.
