Utilities relocation on Idaho Highway 46 near Buhl to begin next week

SHOSHONE - Starting Tuesday, Feb. 20, work will begin to relocate utilities on Idaho Highway 46 between 4200 North Road and 4300 North Road near Buhl. The relocation is being done in advance of a road paving and culvert replacement project later this year.

During repositioning of the utilities, a portion of the highway shoulder will be removed and rebuilt. Work is expected to be complete in the coming weeks.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane during this work. Drivers should be prepared for short delays and watch for flaggers Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and temporary traffic signals after hours.

The asphalt overlay of ID-46 between U.S. 30 in Buhl and the Snake River will begin as soon as June. Additional work includes replacing curb ramps within the city of Buhl and guardrail upgrades.

Those with questions about the project are asked to contact ITD Project Manager, Brock Dillé at 208-544-7906 or brock.dille@itd.idaho.gov.
