N. Five Mile Road access to Chinden will temporarily close
BOISE - As part of the current Chinden Boulevard (U.S. 20/26) construction project, it will be necessary to close the access to Chinden from N. Five Mile Road from Oct. 24 to Oct. 27, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Local traffic will be allowed in the area to let motorists reach their homes, but access from N. Five Mile onto Chinden and from Chinden onto N. Five Mile will be closed during this time. Residents are encouraged to use McMillan and Cloverdale as alternate routes.

Access will remain open for Hewlett-Packard's east entrance and the Bonaventure Place Retirement & Assisted Living construction site. Traffic will not be allowed beyond that intersection. Chinden Boulevard will remain open for eastbound and westbound traffic, one lane in each direction.

The closure, in effect by 5 a.m. on Oct. 24 until the evening hours of Oct. 27, will allow crews to install utilities and reconstruct the roadway in the area.

In the spring of 2007, crews will widen the roadway between Cloverdale Road and the HP Main Entrance, completing a five-lane roadway from Eagle Road through Garden City.
