Overnight bridge preservation continues throughout the summer in Boise

BOISE – Overnight maintenance is ongoing on multiple bridges throughout Boise and will continue through the summer. Work will seal the road surface and preserve pavement life.

Construction is scheduled to begin on the Interstate 84 bridges between the Gowen Road Interchange and Broadway Avenue Interchange this week and continue for approximately two weeks. Motorists can expect speed and lane reductions on the interstate through the work zone.

Remaining work is as follows. Schedules are subject to change.

PROJECT LOCATION      ESTIMATED SCHEDULE       WORK HOURS

*I-84 bridges, between the Gowen Road Interchange and the Broadway Interchange:
This week through early August, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

*Broadway Bridge over the Boise River:
Early and mid-August, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

*Cole Road and Overland Road intersection bridge over I-84:
Mid- and late August, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The contractor is permitted to work weekends. Motorists can expect lane reductions on the bridge structures, reduced speeds in the work zones, periodic flagger control and intermittent I-84 on- and off-ramp closures when work shifts to the Cole Road and Overland Road intersection.

During ramp closures, detours will be in place. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and follow detour signage.

Cannon Builders, Inc. is the contractor on the $2.7 million project. For up-to-date construction information, visit 511.idaho.gov.
