Weight limits in effect for Cloverdale Road Interstate 84 overpass
BOISE - Motorists are being asked to limit their use of the Cloverdale Road overpass when carrying loads that equal more than two tons per axle or seven tons gross, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The overpass was damaged in July when a vehicle that exceeded height limits struck the bridge. Individual girders were damaged, leading the transportation department to reduce the amount of weight on the overpass to protect motorists.

Signs posted on either side of the overpass and advance signing posted just past the Overland and Franklin intersections informs drivers of the weight limits.

Vehicles hauling more than seven tons gross are asked to use the Filve Mile Road overpass or the Eagle Road overpass as alternate north-south routes.

Repairs are scheduled to be finished in the fall of 2007.
