Eastbound off-ramp at Northside Boulevard to be closed overnight Oct. 21 and Oct. 22

NAMPA – The Idaho Transportation Department will close the eastbound off-ramp at Northside Boulevard from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on the nights of Sunday, Oct. 21 and Monday, Oct. 22. The contractor will be removing old asphalt and paving at the ramp.

Motorists will be directed to use the off-ramps at Karcher Road and Franklin Boulevard during the overnight closures. The closures are part of ITD’s project to rebuild and widen the I-84 shoulders between Karcher and Franklin.

A different closure will be in effect later next week at the Karcher Interchange. Details of that closure will be released at a later date.

In 2019 and 2020, ITD will replace the Karcher Overpass, continue to redesign and reconstruct the Northside Interchange, and rebuild the bridges over the railroad and Mason Creek. Improvements are expected to improve safety, capacity and traffic flow in Canyon County for many years.

A separate environmental study is underway to identify needed improvements between the city of Caldwell and the Karcher Interchange.
